Through individualised and targeted physical therapy, we address even the slightest issue related to any symptom or disorder of the musculoskeletal system. Our goal is to resolve the root cause of your condition—not just treat the symptoms! At our clinic, we place a strong emphasis on specialised manual techniques in order to successfully eliminate the underlying cause of the problems our patients report.
DNS Therapy
DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation) is a technique based on developmental kinesiology, particularly on the motor development of infants up to one year of age. Observing infant development shows that all children (excluding those with neurodevelopmental disorders) adopt the same positions and share the same goal—movement and standing upright on two feet.
The aim of DNS exercises is to establish a stable core by activating deep stabilising muscles rather than superficial ones. Without a stable base prior to movement, the body compensates, typically by engaging superficial muscles. This results in improper and unstable movement, which places additional stress on joints, intervertebral discs, ligaments, and muscles.
In our clinic, DNS is used almost daily in the therapeutic process, with a particular focus on acute and chronic spinal conditions, as well as postpartum rehabilitation. We often combine DNS with other techniques to help patients become aware of and relearn proper movement patterns, ultimately aiming to eliminate the source of pain. Our therapists are highly experienced in DNS, and our clinic is also the official organiser of DNS therapy training courses for the Dalmatia region.
SCHROTH Therapy
Schroth Method – non-surgical scoliosis treatment. The Schroth Method is a globally recognized, non-surgical therapy for the treatment of scoliosis. Developed by Katharina Schroth in Germany in the 1920s, it is now regarded as the gold standard in conservative scoliosis management.
- targeted breathing and posture exercises
- strengthening of weaker muscle groups
- stretching of shortened structures
- improvement of muscular balance and motor control
- patient education for daily self-correction
The Schroth Method is suitable for:
- children and adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis
- adults with pain or progressive scoliosis
- patients wearing a spinal brace (orthosis)
- individuals before or after spinal surgery
The therapy is always tailored to each individual, depending on the degree of curvature, age, and functional goals.
✔ Slows or halts the progression of scoliosis
✔ Improves postural symmetry and body balance
✔ Reduces back pain and muscle tension
✔ Promotes better breathing and lung function
✔ Supports bracing or postoperative rehabilitation
✔ Suitable for all age groups – from children to adults
Why early intervention matters
Scoliosis is not just a cosmetic issue. If left untreated, it can lead to functional limitations, pain, respiratory problems, and psychological distress, especially in children and adolescents. In early stages, it often develops silently, without pain. That is why early diagnosis and an individualized therapeutic approach make a crucial difference in long-term outcomes.
MSTR Therapy
A very gentle manual scar therapy technique that helps restore blood flow to the treated area, visibly reduces the appearance of the scar, and restores sensation. In our clinic, we most commonly treat scars following Caesarean sections, hysterectomies, mastectomies, postoperative scars (e.g., from hip or carpal tunnel surgery), laparoscopic surgery scars, burn scars, and muscle lacerations.
MAITLAND Therapy
The Maitland concept is a form of manual therapy that involves joint mobilisation, neurodynamic techniques, muscle stretching, stabilisation exercises, and individually tailored home-based exercise programs. The goal is to reduce stiffness and pain, and the treatment is gentle and non-invasive. We most often apply it as part of manual therapy for back and neck pain, joint issues, and/or nerve irritation.
EMMETT Therapy
EMMETT Therapy is a specialised form of bodywork involving the application of light finger pressure on specific “Emmett points.” In our clinic, this technique is combined with manual physical therapy to relieve pain and discomfort and to improve neurological and musculoskeletal function. By lightly stimulating the correct muscle at the right location, highly effective results are achieved. The targeted areas, or “Emmett points”, are overlaps of sensory or receptor points and muscle trigger points. We use this technique in the treatment of both acute and chronic pain, to improve range of motion, coordination, and balance, as well as to support lymphatic and digestive system function. The method is suitable for all age groups.
NKT Therapy
NKT (NeuroKinetic Therapy) is a form of manual therapy used to identify the root cause of pain, specifically dysfunctional neuromuscular movement patterns. Following an injury, the body often develops compensatory patterns at the neuro-muscular level, which can become the source of pain—especially if the injury was never properly addressed. We apply NKT in cases of long-term chronic pain, scarring, and post-injury rehabilitation, with the aim of improving neuromuscular coordination and reactivating optimal movement patterns.
