Did you know that over 80% of people experience back pain at least once in their lives?
Inactivity of the key spinal stabilizing muscles, combined with prolonged sitting and repetitive incorrect movements, is one of the leading causes of back pain.
Lower back pain is often linked to issues in the upper back as well.
In people with sedentary jobs—such as office workers or those in the IT sector—neck pain caused by poor head posture throughout the day is common. This posture imbalance eventually affects the lower back too, creating pressure and discomfort in the lumbar region.
Back pain usually develops when the muscles of the lower, mid, or upper back are too weak to handle the load, which then shifts directly onto the spinal discs. This often leads to disc displacement, disc bulging, or disc herniation, also known as prolapse or protrusion.
In our physical therapy center, we most commonly treat:
- Back pain (acute or chronic);
- Herniated disc;
- Nerve compression (sciatica, piriformis syndrome);
- Back stiffness;
- Post-operative rehabilitation.
What to expect during your first session:
At your initial appointment, we conduct a thorough assessment and diagnosis to determine the cause of your back pain.
Accurate diagnosis is essential, as the entire treatment plan is built on it.
The diagnostic process includes inspection, palpation, and functional assessment, after which we develop an individual treatment approach.
Our back pain therapy may include:
- Manual therapy (massage and hands-on techniques);
- Electrotherapy;
